The Leadslingers Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in November 1959. During its existence the Leadslingers have participated in all types of rifle and pistol competitions. Several members still compete in Hi-Power competition and other shooting disciplines. The last several years our club has been predominantly involved in Conventional (Bullseye) Pistol. Each year our club has sent a team to compete at the National Matches held at Comp Perry, Ohio. In 2002 our Expert Team placed second overall in their class. In addition several members won individual awards in their classifications.

The Leadslingers compete every year in the Tri-County Revolver and Pistol League. Competition is held from September to May on different nights of the week. The Leadslingers' home match day is Monday.  The league presently consists of teams located throughout the Chicagoland area. At the end of each season an awards banquet is held, with awards and prizes given away. One of our club's members had the highest individual average overall in both courses of fire.

In addition to league competition our club also holds inter-club matches. At the completion of these matches the club gives away awards and recognizes our members' achievements.

Leadslingers meet every two months at a member's home to discuss club functions and league activities. At the end of the meeting, there is an informal get-together. It's a great way to meet and discuss your shooting interests with other shooters. In addition, our club holds an annual picnic and Christmas party.

Our club practices and competes at Gun World. Gun World is located at 421 E. Irving Park Road in Bensenville, Illinois. Members are always willing to discuss bullseye shooting, techniques, equipment, etc.

We're a fun loving group of competitors, and yes, both men and women, and have a good time even when the competition is tough.

One of our main goals is to someday have our own shooting facility. We raise money through raffles and sponsoring pistol matches.

Another priority of our club is the promotion of the shooting sports. Over the years our club has sponsored a Jr. Program in rifle as well as pistol. Club members run this at no expense to the Jr. shooters. Boy Scouts, Sea Scouts and club members' children enjoy learning gun safety and developing shooting skills.

As you can see our club is very active and is always looking for new members that share our shooting interests. New members are welcome and conventional pistol experience is not necessary. If you are interested in shooting competitively or just for fun, please contact us.
